Beach Boys - Surfin' Safari -Hq-
The Beach Boys, formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961, are an American pop and rock band, widely considered one of the most influential groups of the '60s. The group's best known lineup consisted of Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine.
Known as 'America's Band', they are easily recognized by their complex vocal harmonies. Initially recording music that focused on Californian youth culture, halfway through the decade they shifted their attention towards melancholy orchestral pop, and continued to experiment with other genres. With the release of 1974's Endless Summer they became a more popular touring act, playing their greatest hits. They have recorded 36 Billboard Top 40 hits (including four #1 singles), have had over 100 million sales, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.
The group have had over eighty songs chart worldwide, thirty-six of them United States Top 40 hits (the most by an American rock band), four of those reaching number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Beach Boys have sold in excess of 100 million records worldwide and are listed at number 12 on Rolling Stone magazine's 2004 list of the '100 Greatest Artists of All Time'.
